Mansfield University Board of Governor’s Scholarship is a program that provides seven students worth an aid of $1500 every year. The students should be from African American community and planning to study at Mansfield University.

Students who apply for a minority scholarship will be at advantage as they will face less competition compared to open scholarship programs. In addition to the above mentioned programs there are hundreds of other African American scholarships offered by different organizations in US. Students should also make use of scholarship search sites to search for financial aid available to them. Some programs, such as The Deborah Wolfe Fellowship, also provide opportunities to students to study in another country.

African American students should not restrict themselves to minority scholarship; they should also apply for open scholarship programs they are eligible for. Multiple applications will increase their chances of getting a scholarship to fund their studies.

The opportunities may not be very much but if you have knowledge of the scholarship programs you may be able to win a scholarship easily. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is an organization that provides financial assistance to students from Hispanic community. The organization runs a general college scholarship program. For students living in the San Francisco Margoes Foundation run scholarship programs in conjunction with The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, This scholarship program is solely for Latino Americans, and the amount of the award is $2500.

In addition to the above mentioned programs there are hundreds of programs run by universities and colleges for Latino students. These programs can be found with little effort on the internet. Applying for scholarship programs specifically for the Hispanic community will put you on advantage, as the competition will be less as compared to open scholarship programs but the students are advised to make multiple applications on the open scholarship programs as well. This will increase the probability of getting a scholarship and if you are lucky enough you may be able win multiple scholarships.

Multiple applications will increase the probability of winning a scholarship and you might qualify for more than one scholarship, which will go a long way in assisting you with funding your studies. You should not make reckless applications; every scholarship application should be made with complete seriousness and care. Make sure that you are able to fulfill the criteria set out by the scholarship awarding body and you also provide all the information required by them.
