Culinary arts are fast becoming the field of choice for many students because it provides excellent career opportunities world wide for students. Students form culinary arts can easily get job in restaurants and big hotels around the world, so they have a qualification that gives them international recognition. Culinary education is expensive but there are many culinary arts scholarships that students may be able to utilize to pay for education costs.

Culinary arts scholarships are provided by different sources, such as associations, culinary schools, hotels etc. One such program is the James Beard scholarship program that provides aid to students from different colleges. The program is offered in collaboration with many restaurants and hotels across the country. Another program is The Art or Cooking ar Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence, Italy that awards $3000 scholarships to students who pursue a semester that includes Italian language course, Wine Appreciation or Restaurant Management, and three cooking courses, or a choice of an art history course.

The Art Institute of Colorado offers numerous scholarships to qualified incoming freshmen in the 21-month AAS degree in Culinary Arts or Bachelor Degree in Culinary Management. To qualify for this scholarship applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 is their high school or post secondary education.

The Massachusetts Restaurant Association (MRA) also offers numerous scholarship programs for culinary students.  The association only awards scholarships to students who are citizen of US. Applicants have to be enrolled food-service related course to secure the scholarship.

There are many culinary arts scholarships for international students as well. International scholarships provide the students with unique experience of studying in another country. One such example is the scholarship program offered by The Johnson & Wales University. The university provides aid to full-time, undergraduate day-school international students who show good academic background. The scholarship is also renewed for every year of study if students maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75. Students can fill an online form to apply for this scholarship program.

Some colleges also provide the facility of part time work arranged in a hotel, the work is normally arranged by the institute, which can help students pay for their tuition costs.

Culinary arts students can find many other scholarship programs conveniently over the internet. There are hundreds of organizations worldwide that provide such scholarships to students. International students may have a hard time finding a culinary arts scholarship in another country but with little effort they may also be able to find some scholarships to fund their studies abroad.
